On the occasion of last MIPEL 113 Compagnia del Viaggio celebrated its first 40 years!
The leading company in luggage and travel accessories was founded in Florence in 1978 by Roberto Gista and his wife Lucia. After 40 years of activity, the Tuscan based company is still owned by the Gista family and now its managed by the second family generation, Lorenzo, as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. Lorenzo Gista, is currently also a Councilor of the Italian Leather Goods Association – Aimpes.
The goal at the foundation of Compagnia del Viaggio was to produce and sell leather bags and high-end materials with its own brand: this is how the Jaguar brand is born. Over the years the company has grown, both in terms of quality and production capacity. From the Florentine headquarters of the company, Roberto and Lorenzo Gista create collections with the help of designers and, at the same time, delocalize the production while maintaining the taste of Italian design and the tradition of leather goods.
Since 1998, Compagnia del Viaggio decided to integrate the range of suitcases and, in addition to the brand owned by Jaguar, inaugurates the exclusive distribution in the Italian market of foreign brands linked to the world of travel and free mobility lifestyle. The Tuscan company is today among the leaders in the luggage industry, ranging from fashion accessories, gift items and hi-tech.
